About Chopta Trek

The Chopta Chandrashila trek is a popular trekking route in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is renowned for its breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks. The trek starts from Chopta, a picturesque hill station known as the “Mini Switzerland of India”. The highlight of the trek is the Chandrashila summit, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. The trek is relatively moderate in difficulty and can be undertaken by both beginners and experienced trekkers. It’s also known for its diverse flora and fauna, making it a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts. The best time for this trek is typically from April to November, when the weather is most favorable.

  • Route: Haridwar – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Agastyamuni – Kund –Ukhimath – Chopta base Camp and Resort

Day Two: Chopta- Tungnath- Chandrashila (10 Km Up and Down Trek)

Details Itinerary

Day One: Haridwar To Chopta (210Km)-

Description: today we will start early in the morning. It is almost 7 to 8 hrs drive to Duggalbitta, Chotpa, it is mostly used for overnight (stay in the Campsite)halt before starting Chotpa –Tungnath – Chandrashila trek. In the evening we will go for a short walk around the meadows or in the jungle with Local guide and fellow travelers.
Altitude : 2350mt/ 7709 feet.

Day Two: Chopta- Tungnath- Chandrashila (10 Km Up and Down Trek)

Wake – up in the morning with fresh air, this is going to be a tough day and we have to do a lot. After breakfast today we will start our adventurous trek of 10 Km (up and down) . About 3.5 km from the starting point at 3680 Mts we will be at Tungnath Temple. it is the highest Shiva temple amount the 5 Panch Kedar even in the world. After Darshan, we will start our next short 1.5km trek to reach the highest point of this Chopta valley, at Chandrashila. From Chandrashila we will get the 108-degree view of grater Himalayan peaks such as – Chawkhamba, Bandar Poonch, Mandani, Kedar peak, Nanda Devi, Trishuli, etc. We will enjoy our precious time here to enjoy the beauty of Himalaya and later, we will trek down to Chopta. Dinner and overnight stay at Chopta.

Day Three:Your Base Camp Chopta To Rishikesh/ Haridwar

Today we head to back to Haridwar post early morning breakfast. We will start drive back to Haridwar which is about to 7 to 8 Hour drive .
