The date of opening of Kedarnath temple is decided by the priests at Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath after calculating the calendar. As per the calculations, the doors of the holy temple will be opened on 10th May 2024 with a special puja at the temple.

The closing date of Kedarnath is fixed i.e 2 days after Diwali when Bhai Dooj is celebrated. In 2023, Diwali will be celebrated on 12 Nov, so Kedarnath Temple will closed on 14 Nov. महाशिवरात्रि पर तय हुई कपाट खुलने की तिथि, 25 अप्रैल को खुलेंगे बाबा केदार के द्वार

आज महाशिवरात्रि पर केदारनाथ धाम के कपाट खुलने की तिथि तय हुई। 25 अप्रैल को प्रातः 6 बजकर 20 मिनट पर बाबा केदारनाथ के कपाट श्रद्धालुओं के लिए खोल दिए जाएंगे। ओंकारेश्वर मंदिर में सुबह चार बजे से महाभिषेक पूजा शुरू हो हुई। मंदिर के पुजारी शिव शंकर लिंग, बागेश लिंग, गंगाधर लिंग और शिव लिंग द्वारा गर्भगृह में धार्मिक परंपराओं के तहत सभी पूजा-अर्चना की गई। सुबह 8:30 बजे भगवान केदारनाथ की आरती की गई और भोग लगाया गया। इसके बाद सुबह नौ बजे से पंचकेदार गद्दीस्थल में मंदिर समिति के आचार्यों की पंचांग गणना के लिए बैठे। इस अवसर पर केदारनाथ के रावल भीमाशंकर के प्रतिनिधि के तौर पर केदार लिंग मौजूद रहे। 9:30 बजे पंचांग गणना के आधार पर केदारनाथ के कपाट खुलने का दिन तय कर उसे घोषित किया गया।
