As per the latest order of the Respective High Court of Uttarakhand in 2019, the camping is banned on alpine meadows of Chopta, which lies in Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. So, the camping is not allowed in Chopta Meadows. We will update you here once the ban left on camping.{Due to this order, as of now, no tourists can put their personal camps in the meadows of Chopta.}
Can I pitch my tent in Chopta?
As per the latest order Uk high Court Nainital, in 2019, camping is banned in Chopta now. After this order tourists are not allowed to put their camps in Chopta.
Before the Order of ban in alpine meadows by Uttarakhand High court, there were lots of areas/places where you could pitch your tent in Chopta. Many trekkers used to pitch their tent/camps in Bhujgyali, near to the starting point of the trek to Tungnath-Chandrashila.Chopta Highlights

- The District forest officer of Rudraprayag (D.F.O.) has issued guidelines for private resorts, Camps, and hotels, other entities operating around Chopta, and imposed a banned on the campfire, loud music, and use of plastic in their properties.
