About Deoriatal Chandrashila Trek ( 5 Days Trek Details)
 
Deoriatal Chopta Chandrashila Trek  is a beautiful and famous Trek of Chopta. This is an exciting easy to Moderate grade trek, which is the extension of Chopta Chandrashila and Deoriatal Trek that starts from Sari Village in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand. It takes you up to 4000Mtr height. The starting point of Chandrashila Trek is Chopta. First you reach Tungnath Temple after 3.5 km. It is the highest Shiva temple in the world. In reaching Tungnath Ji from Chopta station, you have cross through the forest of Rhododendrons (local Name – Buransh) and alpine meadows and have views of the Great Himalayas, which does not let you feel the steep climb in reaching here.
Chandrashila falls 1.5 kilometers ahead of Tungnath. The trek is a little uphill after Tungnath but as you reach Chandrashila you realize that have reached in heaven. At Chandrashila, you feel like you are on the top of the world and you See Mountains all around and one can see the Himalayan view at about 180 degrees. Out of more than 60 Himalayan peaks Nanda Devi, Nanda Ghunti, Trishuli Chaukhamba Kedar dome are main peaks. On reaching Chandrashila, you realize the worth of the trek and a voice comes from inside that I would not miss this trek during my lifetime.     Chandrashila Trek Itinerary
    Chandrashila Trek route:  Haridwar – Chopta (base camp) – Chandrashila- Chopta –  Deoria Tal –  Sari (base Camp) – Haridwar
     
        
    Day I- Haridwar to Chopta (210Km)-
     today we will start early in the morning. It is almost 7 to 8 hrs drive to Duggalbitta, Chotpa, it is mostly used for overnight (stay in the Campsite)halt before starting Chotpa –Tungnath – Chandrashila trek.  In the evening we will go for a short walk around the meadows or in the jungle with Local guide and fellow travelers. 
     Altitude : 2350mt/ 7709 feet
    Day 2 – Chopta – Tungnath – Chandrashila – Chopta-
    Wake – up in the morning with fresh air, this is going to be a tough day and we have to do a lot. After breakfast today we will start our adventurous trek of 10 Km (up and down) . About 3.5 km from the starting point at 3680 Mts we will be at Tungnath Temple. it is the highest Shiva temple amount the 5 Panch Kedar even in the world.  After Darshan, we will start our next short 1.5km trek to reach the highest point of this Chopta valley, at Chandrashila.  From Chandrashila we will get the 108-degree view of grater Himalayan peaks such as – Chawkhamba, Bandar Poonch, Mandani, Kedar peak, Nanda Devi, Trishuli, etc. We will enjoy our precious time here to enjoy the beauty of Himalaya and later, we will trek down to Chopta. Dinner and overnight stay at Chopta.

    Day – 3 –– Chopta– Sari– Deoriatal- Sari
    Today After breakfast in the morning we will get ready for our next trek to Deoriatal. Sari village is the Starting point of Trek to Deoriatal and it is a little bit steep up to Deoriatal. the way gets through the forest and after 1.5 Km you the view of Village can feel relaxed to you. After a 2.5 km hike from Sari village, we arrived at the pristine lake Deoriatal or Devariyatal. We enjoy here the scenic views (Reflection in the holy water )  of Majestic Chawkhamba and Kedar peak. Enjoy here for one or two hours we will start down to Sari Village.
     Overnight in Guest House. Enjoy the village life in the evening and night stay here at Sari.
     Altitude : 2400mt/ 7875 feet
    Day 4 – Sari to Haridwar (215km.)
     Today we head to back to Haridwar post early morning breakfast. We will start drive back to Haridwar which is about to 7 to 8 Hour drive .

    Dos &Don’ts
    • As you know mountains are unpredictable so, always pay heed to the trek guides.
    • Don’t disturb the wild as well as local life while trekking.
    • Don’t encourage trekking during the night.
    • Carry sufficient water with you before commencing the trek and keep yourself hydrated.
    • You must have good trekking shoes to enjoy the trek.
    • Keep a small back pack while trekking to kept the essentials.
    • Always keep a small backpack with you while on trek so that essential items like extra cloth, rain coat, water bottle and some medicines can be kept in it.
    • Always walk towards the mountain while trekking because there is a risk of falling from hill on other side of the trek.
    Things to Carry
    CLOTHES- Warm clothes like windproof jackets, fleece/full sleeve sweater, thermals Innerwear, woolen cap and socks, mittens and scarf.Some Light and comfortable clothes like tee-shirts, trousers or tracks pants
    SHOES & SOCKS- Comfortable trekking or hiking shoes, at least 3 pairs of warm socks and 2 Cotton socks.
    SKIN CARE ESSENTIALS- Sunglasses with 100 % UV protection, Lip Balm, Sunscreen Lotion, Moisturizer,Water bottles
    MEDICINES- All required basic medications (or prescribed if any)
    OTHER ACCESSORIES- Raincoat or poncho to avoid rains, walking stick or trekking pole, Water Bottle, Hot water Bottle/bag, Led Torch/Headlamps are Preferable.  Cap to protect from Sun, hat is preferable.
