Ansuya Mata Temple is an ancient historical temple of Sati Ansuya, wife of the great rishi Atri muni. Ansuya temple has located an elevation of 2175mts height from sea level in Gopeshwar, Chamoli. The trek to this famous temple starts from Mandal and the length of the trek is about to 4km. it is an easy trek that goes through the dense forest of oke species.
Maa Anusuya Devi Temple is very attractive and beautiful. Before the temple, there is a statue of Ganesh Ji in a small temple, on the way to Temple, and in the temple courtyard, there is also a three-faced idol of Shiva, Parvati, and Dattadreya, the son of Maa Anusuya. At this temple, those couples who are deprived of child happiness are here with a vow of child attainment.
Atri Muni Ashram : The Ashram of Atri Muni, husband of Anusuya Devi, is located at a distance of 2 Km from the temple. The ashram is in the form of a cave temple. This is said to be the only holy place in the world where devotees circumambulate around a river as a mark of reverence.

According to the belief, Ma Anusuya was one of the nine daughters of Devahuti and Prajapati Kadarm, the Maa Ansuya was the wife of Anusuya Atri Muni.

.It is believed that to see the strength of Satitva, Goddess Parvati, Lakshmiji, and Saraswati sent their husbands Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh to take Devi Anusuya's strength test. When they arrived at ashram Devi Anusuya offered food to them. But they did not take the food and put a condition in front of her. That they will accept the food only in one condition when she will serve food without wearing clothes.After hearing this Devi Anusuya became tensed, that how could she do that. At last, Devi closed her eyes and thinks about her husband. Suddenly, she got an intuition that these sages are gods and they are testing her strength. After that, she put a condition that she agrees to do that but for that, they have to take the form of her sons. The gods agreed to it, and then she served food to them. Later on, three gods started living there as Devi Anusuya's sons. When the gods did not reach back to padlock, then goddess Parvati, Lakshmiji, and Saraswati apologized to Devi Anusuya and requested her to back their husbands. After that, she agreed to it and since then this place is known as Ma Sati's name.

Ansuya Mela | Why Ansuya Fair Organized ?
A fair is organized at Maa Anusuya Devi Temple every year on Dattatreya Jayanti in December. The special thing of the fair is that, the fair is held in December and this place is an elevation of 2175mts, due to it being extremely cold here, but it does not affect the devotees' worship. Rather, there is an influx of devotees here. Nightly bhajan programs are organized by the temple committee. And fire place, tea and soup are also arranged by the temple committee to avoid the cold, not only this, the temple committee and nearby people also organize a bhandara for the food system so that no devotees will go hungry.
Maa Anusuya Devi fair is organized on a large scale and it is believed that those couples who are deprived of child happiness are here with a vow of child attainment and no one is left empty at the rate of mother Anusuya Devi. Here, the couple stays awake all the night and offer prayers to the mother and ask for a vow to get children. During this time, the couple is stands overnight with a lamp in their hand until the couple dreams and and it is said that the couple tells no one about the dream and the vow is completely after the dream comes.
